Is anybody still going to blog on the Nablopomoblog after November?

Added a post Nov 28 2007

I'm glad to see that this blog is going to live on. I, like many others, have another blog - but the 'other blog' was never meant to be 'stream of consciousness' like this one has been for me. I ha... Read More »

Who is still going the pace with NaBloPoMo?

Added a post Nov 28 2007

Unfortunately, I didn't find NaBloPoMo until late in the month. But having found it, I have been able to prove to myself that I CAN write everyday; as a matter of fact, it's fun. Now, whether anybo... Read More »

Louis Lohman's Friends

Louis Lohman's Blog

Winding down ...

I've never really understood how NING works. I don't understand what 'FRIENDS' do. I have friends, but I don't see their posts, I don't get notified when they do stuff, and I don't know if they're notified when I do stuff. So, what's the point?

Anyway, I have been blogging for some time on blogspot, although not with the frequency I have been blogging here. There is no NaBloPoMo on blogspot, although there should be. I feel comfortable on blogspot, I know what to expect on blogspot and…

new idea for next painting

Whenever anyone got a card from my in-laws, John would have drawn a cartoon of this guy in a sombrero with a moustache and peasant clothing that would have something pithy to say about the occasion that engendered the card. This guy was, obviously, John's characterization of himself. There was a second thing - John used to carve wood - bas reliefs and small wooden figurines. And his favorite figurine was one of a peasant taking a siesta under his sombrero, arms wrapped around his knees. I wan…

She Who Must Be Obeyed returns ...

Annie comes home from Arizona today. I spoke to her last evening - she was having a hard time dealing with the fact that she no longer has her father. I really wish I could have been there to hold her - to offer some comfort. I really feel terrible when she cries - I want so much to make her smile and make the tears go away. And, of course, I couldn't stay in AZ long enough for the funeral. I wish I could have. At least, she knows that.

Zachary is home from school for the weekend. He l…

new class scheduled

Marilyn Dale, artist and art instructor extraordinaire, announced this last Wednesday that she would be giving an Oil Painting Class for 6 weeks on Tuesdays, from 7-9pm, starting January 8th. The cost will be the same as the class we are just about to finish, but the location will be different. Close by, but different, nonetheless. Big YEAH!!

I would like to be able to do a portrait of my father-in-law, to give to his recent widow. I don't have the talent to tackle something like that o…

and the posting goes ever on, and on, and on ....

I can't believe it's already so close to Christmas. I haven't even gotten anything for Annie yet, although I do know what I'm going to get her. I bought her an iPod Nano for her birthday (Nov. 23rd) and she needs something to play her iPod through - you know, like a speaker set. Well. There's this console thing I've seen that looks like an old fashioned radio that's actually a record, CD and cassette player as well as AM/FM radio AND it has an input jack where one could plug in an iPod to play t…

Hi there, I love to paint and sketch too. I love photography too, but need better equipment to start doing it more seriously. Would love to see some of your work. You should post it here.
