What I Learned in Therapy Today

I’m emotionally dependent on my mother. I’m emotionally dependent on Sophia. I’m emotionally dependent on my friends. I’m emotionally dependent on women. I’m emotionally dependent on my therapist. I’m emotionally dependent on sex. I’m emotionally dependent on writing. I’m emotionally dependent on readers of my blog. On the positive side, I don’t have a drinking or drug problem.

California, Here I Come!

(This is an amazing video! Can you believe that the first time ABBA sang on television it was to belt out “California Here I Come!” on some lame Swedish TV show!) Finally, men, our chance is here!   Like the women in Aristophenes’ Lysistrata, it is time to band together as a gender and make changes to society.   Today, [...]

Imaginary Paris on $5000 a Day

I love imaginary Paris. I love the cafes, the art, the fashion, but mostly I thrive here because this is the famed city of French existentialism and moral relativism. I am comfortable here using the $5000 that I found in that imaginary wallet yesterday. Sure, I COULD have returned the wallet to [...]

The Morality of the Lost Wallet

Let’s imagine I’m walking down the block and I find a wallet on the ground.  I open it up.  Inside, I see a driver’s license with an address.  The wallet also contains $5000 dollars.  What am I going to do?  I’m going to contact this person and return the wallet, with the money still inside.  I’m not [...]

Hug

I’ve been sleeping in the living room for the last few weeks.  On Saturday, I woke up a 3AM and I couldn’t handle it anymore.  I’m a man, with manly needs.  I climbed the stairs to the bedroom.  I was naked.  I pushed open the door, my body tense with want.  I slid into the [...]

Anyone else stalk their own site?

Added a post Nov 1 2007

I never heard of the term "stalking your own site," by now that you said it, it makes us all feel a little odd. I've even stalked myself on my cellphone, as if not reading a comment IMMEDIATELY wil... Read More »

The meal is over. We've given thanks. We're feeling spiritual. So, what do we do the next day? We fight over parking spaces in the mall and push old women out of the way so we can get our grubby hands on the latest "Touch Me Elm…

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'll send you an email re: crafts, but essentially, I'll send baby booties to anyone who will pay for postage. I have an obscene yarn stash and the boots take less than an hour to make. I'd love to send boots to anyone who wants them.

Yep, I get that, but on the other hand, think of it this way - a few hundred years ago there was no way to scientifically prove the world is round. Then someone discovered something new and boom! - scientific proof. Germs, black holes, atoms, subatomic particles, quantum physics....think how recently in the history of the earth any of those things became known to or proven by science. So things like astrology or other woo-woo stuff might be a load of hooey (they really might!...I'm a believer, but perfectly willing to admit I could be fooling myself), or then again maybe the proof is all around us and science just hasn't advanced enough yet to know how to see or interpret that proof. Maybe someday natal birth charts will be as scientifically accepted as the table of elements! Something to think about... :-)

Hi Neil! About the astrology thing, I don't put any stock in those little one-size-fits-all things you find printed in the newspapers or online, but when it's based on a more detailed and personalized chart, I think they can be eerily accurate. The thing is, a lot of people seem to look at it like stars and planets influencing people and I look at it more like the stars and planets that were in place when you were born (and the traits associated with them) present a sort of snapshot of the person. (I hope that makes some kind of sense, but it might not. It's after midnight here and this is my last comment of the night before I go to sleep so I feel like I'm babbling. I may read this in the morning and think "huh???" but here I go about to hit "add comment!" )

Oh, puh-leaze. You all are too busy flaunting your hot bods on boardwalks to write heavy hitting posts. Not to mention all of that plastic under your skin canNOT be good for brain cells.

At least red wine is an antioxidant.
