My goodness. I read this. I felt my stomach drop. How does one let go of a three year old child without being scared? Is it even possible? I feel your pain. I am sorry you had to live this.

Well ... that was last year, I'm one year older now,
albeit not much wiser, for I joined in again this year.
I was born and I'm living in Belgium, Europe.
Belgium? Yes, I'm trying to put it on the map.
So if it's Monday ... this would be Brussels ... so this must be Belgium. This is how it's usually described, yes.
I was born in Bruges, and I live near Antwerp, for those of you who have already heard of Belgium.
And my heaven is in Belgium.
Well it's not always heaven, if you consider the weather
... but still.

Anyway, I love challenges, and I 'll give it my very best again this year.
Among other things, I'm very addicted to my camera.
I never leave home without it!

Ghosts of the Past

I have given this long and careful consideration.
The past few days, my mind has been dwelling in the past.
And the more I try to reconstruct things that have happened, the more I feel there is just no sense in doing that.
Awful things have happened.
And I could spend hours and hours trying to write about it.
But I won't.
I'd rather do something creative instead.

I'm convinced that everybody has to face his own Hell.
To me Hell is not something you get when you're dead.

Giving up ...

There is this story that needs to be told, about a decision that altered my whole life.
All about letting go.
Having to let go, it was never my choice.

When she was but three years old, I had to let go of her.
Being forced to let go, which is not the same as giving up.
I realize that, now.
I never gave up on her.
But they made me give up the right to be a mother. Or did they steal that right from me?

My soul is still scarred.
