Happily married..happy with that

My husband and I decided before marriage that neither of us wanted kids. We decided to wait it out and see if either of us changed our minds. We didn't. I have various responses to "The Question" (when are you having kids?) but my favorite, and most used, is: "When my husband is ready to get pregnant, give birth, and take care of the kids at every waking moment." That usually shuts people up. My husband calls us "DINKs" Dual Income, No Kids. Any other married couples choosing to be child free?

Yes, indeed. I found out I couldn't have kids before we were married, and decided for various reasons that adoption wouldn't work for us. Since then, I've been increasingly happy with the decision. I like it being just us.
