Displaced Former New England resident...

I never thought I'd miss rotaries, the RMV and carriages so much!

I lived in Massachusetts for four years, having left nearly 5 years ago. Since then, the Red Sox have won the World Series twice. Twice! Oh, yeah!

I keep telling myself I'll get back one day soon, but that one day soon is in the future somewhere.

I still have some friends there, and people say they remember me (but I can't say the same about them! ). I just want some REAL New England clam chowder and season tickets to the Red Sox...

I'm in Oklahoma now, and I like it here, but there's no ocean (lakes don't count!). But I miss snowy winters and frappes and raking leaves in the fall.

*sigh*

So the Red Sox have won twice since you've left? And now you're hoping to come back?!!??! *hangs head and weeps*

I AM kidding and I totally agree...life without the ocean and no snow? Not the same. I lived in Texas for a year, loved it, but felt very much 'in the middle of nowhere' even though I was just outside of Dallas.

Glad you joined up, displaced or no...

Welcome to the Exiles Club! I'm trapped in Southern California, but my heart is in New England. My dream is to move back one of these years. However, I have three daughters out here who want me to stay, and they are bribing me with babies. So I just have to figure out how to travel East more often. Oh, I do have grandkids in New England--four teenagers in Conn.--so I wouldn't be completely away from family!
