Biggest joy

My biggest joy is simply looking into the eyes of my son everyday and realizing "he's here!" that whole terrible nightmare of infertility is over. I feel acutely every day what a miracle he is and that makes the lack of sleep, frustration, hair loss and weight gain so trivial in comparison. I think I can really enjoy parenting more than when I would have when I was younger. Its like the difference between sitting down to a meal that took all day to prepare, that you've waited until all your other responsibilities were finished to eat and going to a drive through on your way to something else. I am savoring every bite of this scrumptious little person.

My biggest joy is that I even got pregnant! It took three years!!! I think the one thing I have from waiting, this is personal and not a judgement on young mothers, was patience. My friends all say how patient I am with my Boo Boo La La. I do not always agree, but I know I am not as rushed as I used to be...

My biggest joy is when she smiles at me. It's pure, unedited, unbridled joy emanating from her. And I've learned that such is true with smiles from ALL babies. A baby's smile = the best gift. (Okay, I'll shut up before I start sounding even more like a Hallmark card.)
